Overview
Established in 1955, A.M.P. (Government) Law College, Rajkot, holds the distinction of being the first state-run law institution in the Saurashtra region. Initially functioning under Dharmendrasinhji College, it gained independent status in 1978. The college was later renamed in honour of Late Shri Amrutlal Mansang Parekh a respected philanthropist known for his invaluable contributions to education and society. Since its inception, the college has remained affiliated with Saurashtra University. It complies with the academic and professional standards set by the Bar Council of India (BCI) and holds recognition from the University Grants Commission (UGC) as well as accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The flagship program of the institution is the three-year LL.B. degree, open to graduates from any stream. Eligibility requires a minimum of 45% marks in the qualifying degree (42% for OBC and 40% for SC/ST categories). The college enforces a professional dress code and a disciplined academic environment, preparing students effectively for future roles in the legal and judicial systems.
