Overview

Dr. M Mohan Alva , an ayurvedic doctor, educator, and social reformer in Moodubidri, South India, founded Alva`s Education Foundation (AEF) with his business vision. AEF founded Alva`s Institute of Engineering and Technology in Mijar in 2008 to provide cheap, high-quality professional education to the youngsters of this disadvantaged region. Alva's Institute Of Engineering & Technology (AIET) is a premier Engineering Institute of Alva's Education Foundation established in the year 2008. AIET is strategically located adjacent to Moodbidri -Mangalore National Highway, which is 24 km from Mangalore International Airport. It has a lush green campus spread over 30 acres; a part of ALVA'S-SHOBHAVANA, 144 acres spread on a famous herbal garden with more than two thousand varieties of herbal plants. AIET provides Bachelor`s Degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, IT Enabled Services Engineering, and Civil Engineering as part of its commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and service. A postgraduate degree in Business Administration is also available from AIET. With the backing of a creative and devoted faculty, AIET has pioneered path-breaking efforts in Indian higher education by introducing innovative and modern curricula, insisting on academic discipline, providing Holistic Education, and adopting global higher education methods. The Institute is associated with Visvesvaraya Technological University in Belagavi and is accredited by the AICTE and India`s University Grants Commission (UGC). Two of its departments, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Computer Science, received NBA accreditation in the previous academic year. Candidates must have passed class 12 in Physics and Chemistry with a minimum of 45 per cent (40 per cent for SC/ ST) to be eligible for admission to the B. Tech program at Alva`s Institute of Engineering and Technology (associated with Visvesvaraya Technological University). The written test administered by KCET is used to make the selection. Candidates must have completed a qualified graduate degree in any subject with a minimum of 50% (45% for SC/ST) to be eligible for admission to Alva`s Institute of Engineering and Technology (associated with Visvesvaraya Technological University`s MBA program. A written test in the KMAT/GMAT/CAT exam is used to make the selection. Minority community students (Muslims, Jains, Christians, Parsis, and Zoroastrians) can apply for the Merit cum Means Scholarship, while OBC students pursuing engineering and management studies can apply for the Karnataka E Pass Scholarship. Furthermore, Alva`s Education Foundation provides scholarships to eligible students. Research &Development: At AIET, visionary management policies such as sending faculty to IITs/NITs to pursue their research studies under Quality Improvement Programs (QIP), deputing faculty for various Research related Conferences and Workshops, and conducting various research-related conferences/workshops are rooted in research and development. AIET research culture includes interaction and collaboration with a variety of Indian and foreign universities, including those in Europe, Japan, and the United States. Providing students and faculty with access to numerous research-related initiatives through MoU organizations including ISRO, IIIT, IISc, HAL, SCL , and others.
