Overview

As part of its ongoing efforts to create awareness about the harmful consequences of ragging and to promote a safe, respectful and inclusive campus environment, the Anti-Ragging Cell (ARC) of Baring Union Christian College (BUCC), Batala, organised a Trilingual On-the-Spot Essay Writing Competition on “The Menace of Ragging” in the College Library on 17th. August, 2026. The event was organised on the joint initiative of Dr. Jatinderpal Singh, Officiating Principal; Prof. Neeraj Kumar Sharma, Convener, Anti-Ragging Cell; members of the Administrative Committee; and the ARC team. A total of 24 students from different streams of the College enthusiastically participated in the competition and expressed their views on the social, psychological and academic implications of ragging. Dr. Jatinderpal Singh and Dr. Amita also visited the venue and interacted with the participants, encouraging them to actively contribute to the College’s efforts towards maintaining a ragging-free campus.
