* Recognised by UGC, New Delhi and Affiliated to Karnataka State Akkamahadevi Women's University , Vijayapur Shri Basaveshwar Veershaiva Vidyavardhak Sangha, Bagalkot is one of the pioneer and premier educational institutions in the northern region of Karnataka. It was founded by His Holiness Poojya Shri. Gurubasav Mahaswamiji of Bilur in 1906 in Bagalkot, with the help of number of selfless and benevolent persons for the noble cause of spreading education. Sangha is doing yeoman service in the field of education. B.V.V. Sangha has established and managing 156 institutions from kindergarten to post-graduation, including engineering and medical. The goal of Sangha is to develop competent human resource and to regenerate the traditional and cultural values of the land among the students. Bagalkot-tucked away in the arid folds of Northern Karnataka, vast stretches of endless vistas, proud and silent under the scorching sun, is the inheritor of a rich heritage that lies in mute glory in the architectural marvels of a bygone era.
