Overview

Balagarh Bijoy Krishna Mahavidyalaya is incepted as the undergraduate Degree College and the only higher learning institute in and around Balagarh Block situated at the east fringe of Hooghly District under the state of West Bengal. The institute was established in the year 1985 and is affiliated to the University of Burdwan,W.B. It is named after revered Late Bijoy Krishna Modak, the noted freedom fighter, renowned educationist and lifelong social activist. Indeed, late Bijoy Krishna Modak is the founding father of the College. The College is accredited by NAAC in the year 2007 and graded C++.Further the college is re-accredited by NAAC in the year 2016 and graded ‘C’ (very few points short of grade’B’).But, the college has improved a lot in overall standard of infrastructure in the year 2017 and 2018. IT-enabled services, a sense of students’ caring environment, development of health and hygiene, introduction of modern aids in teaching and learning and opening of new courses have uplifted the standard of college in recent years.
