Overview

Balarampur College is situated at the heart of a tribal belt in the southern part of Purulia and it is a co-educational institution. It was established in the year 1985 (vide G.O. No. 1289 Edn.(Cs) dt.19.9.85) to impart education at Degree Level. It started Tow- Year Degree Arts General Course from the Session 1985- 86 with the affiliation to the University of Burdwan. Since then the college has been running smoothly with nearly 2000 (two thousand) students. Now there are three streams-Arts, Science & Commerce with Honours and General Courses. The College is going on with object of upliftment of this backward area and betterment of students. In 2010, the College has been recognized under Section 2(f) and 12(B) of the U.G.C.Act,1956. So, it has been receiving Central assistance in terms of the rules framed under Section 12(B)of the U.G.C.Act, 1956. Admission for Under Graduate Courses are going on.
