Overview

Canadian International School (CIS) was founded in 1996 and provides world-class education to students in Kindergarten to Grade 12 . Its mission is to develop students into well-rounded persons with highly developed physical, social, and intellectual skills. We have three internationally recognised curriculum, students from over 40 countries, and teachers who have received their education abroad. Our teaching technique is student-centered, with teachers creating an environment that encourages active learning. CIS Bangalore is the first IB DP school in Bangalore, the first 1:1 iPad school in South India, the first school in India to run entirely on solar power, and the first Apple Distinguished School in India, having been recognised by Apple Inc for innovation and technology integration in education. The Admissions Procedure The admissions team is looking forward to working with families as they make educational decisions for their children. We want you to know that our major purpose as we walk you through the admissions process is to ensure your child`s success at CIS. Our admissions procedure examines a child`s academic and social qualities to ensure that CIS is the best fit for him or her. We value variety and hope that families will stay with us throughout their child`s academic careers. Our Method: We require assessments for admittance in all classes. These evaluations differ by grade level and may include classroom observations and/or entrance tests in English and Maths. All applicants must also provide their report cards from the previous two years, which reflect academic and personal improvement. Boarding Facilities: The Canadian International School is roughly 15 kilometres from the city centre, off Airport Road. The school is located away from the hustle and bustle of city life and has a beautiful lake view. The CIS boarding houses students in grades 6 through 12 in a modern, family-style setting. The two distinct wings can house a total of 116 kids (72 males and 44 girls). Students who board in pairs of the same age/grade share rooms. All rooms include high-quality furnishings, including beds, wardrobes, workstations, bookshelves, and bedside cabinets. Boarding Parents are housed on each floor and are available to the boarders at all times. There is a lounge for the females and another for the lads, both of which are equipped with televisions, table tennis tables, pool tables, air hockey tables, and foosball tables. The CIS Boarding has its own air-conditioned, spacious multi-purpose hall, which serves as a study hall as well. The boarders are served a selection of eastern, western, and vegetarian cuisines in a communal cafeteria with a stainless steel open plan kitchen. Boarders have access to all campus facilities and are encouraged to take advantage of them. A full-fledged Performing Arts Facility (PAC), a 25-meter swimming pool, a fitness centre, a yoga/meditation room, a badminton court, two synthetic floodlit tennis courts, a running track, three basketball courts (2 of which are floodlit), and a soccer field are among the amenities available.
