Chirang Polytechnic has been established in the district of Chirang at Bijni, Assam in the year 2020 vide AICTE approval F.No.Eastern/2020-21/1-4682961531. It is one of the 5 new polytechnics established by the Government of Assam in 2020 under the Directorate of Technical education, Assam.

It is the only premier technical institute in the whole region which is situated at 1 No. Garogaon, about 5 km from Bijni town, one of the fastest growing town in Assam. The latitude and longitude of the location are 26031’54” North and 90040’19” East, respectively. The Khasra/Plot/Survey No. of the allotted land is 189, bearing Land Registration No. BTC/LR-260/2013/58 dated 19/12/2018. The Institute is 15 minutes away from the Bijni Railway Station and 10 minutes away from the Bus Stand. The Bijni town is also situated near one of the International Border of Bhutan. The Institute covers an area of 65 Bighas approximately.
