History: Christ Academy is led by CMI (Carmelites of Mary Immaculate) fathers who have pioneered the cause of social uplift in the fields of education, such as CHRIST UNIVERSITY, KRISTU JAYANTHI, Bangalore, CHRIST COLLEGE, Irinjalakuda, and healthcare, such as AMALA MEDICAL COLLEGE, RAJAGIRI HOSPITAL, Kerala, and various other humanitarian activities, since time immemorial. The Christ Academy Group of Institutions aspires to educate the various strata of the social order by igniting the light of knowledge and wisdom in the hearts of all. The CMI congregation’s Devamatha Province had a strong desire to establish an educational institution in Bangalore.

Dharmaram College’s Rev. Fr. Dr.

Francis Kanichikattil CMI and Rev. Fr. Dr.

Jose Pereppadan CMI purchased about 18 acres of land in Begur (16 kilometers south of Dharmaram College) and established the Devamatha Educational Foundation. On the 11th of December 2004, the then Provincial Rev. Fr.

Jerome Cherussery CMI laid the foundation stone of the ICSE School, fulfilling a long-held ambition of Devamatha Province. The school first opened its doors on June 13, 2005, with Rev. Fr.

Joice Elavathingal CMI as Principal and Rev. Fr. Joy Payappilli CMI as Finance Administrator.

Due to the hard effort and dedication of Rev. Fr. Joice Elavathingal and all the other Priests who followed him in due course, Christ Academy rose to great heights and carved a niche in the sphere of education and society.

In 2015, the trust opened a CBSE school and a PU college, followed by Christ Academy Institute for Advanced Studies (Degree College) in 2016 and Christ Academy Institute of Law (Law College) in 2017. The Campus currently has 5200 students, 300 teaching staff, and 200 support workers. Christ Academy Junior College is named after Jesus Christ, the Supreme Guru, who serves as our guiding light in enlightening every member of our academic community.

Our motivation comes from St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara, the founder of the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI), and we at CAIAS strive to give great education to all of our students, regardless of caste, creed, or religion. St.

Chavara was a brilliant educator who, through his foresight and creative vocation, brought about revolutionary changes in society. Learning, we believe, is a transforming experience. Our goal is to give all of the resources necessary for our kids to make this shift.

Academic courses, pedagogical methodologies, peer learning environments, and campus infrastructure are all geared at providing our students with the most up-to-date learning opportunities. We are dedicated to providing the greatest education possible for our pupils. Devamatha Province hopes that Christ Academy will continue to thrive and flourish and that it will continue to be unrivaled in its pursuit of greatness.
