About Christian College

Christian College is a private aided college in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, established in 1965. Campusbells lists it under General. Approvals and accreditation: NAAC B, UGC.

Awakening to the aspirations of higher education, Rev. Legg, the erstwhile Bishop of South Kerala Diocese, founded the institution on 1965 July 22 in a serene locality in Poovachal panchayat under Nedumangad taluk, 20 kms from the city of Thiruvananthapuram. Started as a junior college affiliated to the University of Kerala, Christian College is now looked upon as the upshot of the sweat and toil of the SIUC community of the South Kerala Diocese.

Upgraded in 1976-77 to an undergraduate Arts and Science college, the institution now offers Under-Graduate courses in Botany, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Zoology, History, Economics and Commerce along with Post-Graduate courses in Botany, Chemistry and Physics. The college was accredited by NAAC in 2011 and was awarded ‘B’ grade. Christian College, Kattakada has had able academicians and administrators at its helm from the very early days of its inception.
