Overview

The New English School trust after careful considerations decided to establish a Self-financed Degree Engineering College with the support of eminent people of this area. The New English School Trust (NEST) decided to name the college as the SARDAR VALLABHBHAI PATEL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY (S.V.I.T.) as a tribute to the great leader Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel who hailed from this area. The Trust formed the Board of Management for the college as per guidelines of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The Trust requested Prof. Shantibhai Amin, a philanthropic-administrator, to take the responsibility of establishing the college as Chairman of Board of Management. The Board of Management consisted of the technocrats, the educationalists, the industrialists, the social workers, the business magnets of Vasad and Shri. Shivabhai Patel who had a rich experience of managing co-operative organization.
