Lisie Medical and Educational Institutions is named after St.Teresa Lisieux of France (popularly known as Little Flower), the spiritual model for youth. She was a pensive nun, living in a cloistered convent, and had never stepped out beyond the four walls of her disciplined abode. Yet her teachings form the basis of catholic spirituality as she served God through her prayers, charity, humility, obedience, and authentic love for humanity.

The Lisie School of Medical Laboratory Technology was first started in 1972, recognized by the Christian Medical Association of India (CMAI) under the aegis of Reverend Father Mathew Muttamthotty, who also introduced various other courses in the coming years, as the Director of Lisie Medical and Educational Institutions.

In 1999, a Diploma in Dialysis Technology, recognized by the Directorate of Medical Educational (DME) Kerala, and in 2005 Diploma in Anesthesia Technology (both are 2 year full-time programs) recognized by the CMAI was introduced.
