Deccan Education Society`s Kirti M. Doongursee College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Mumbai was established on 20th June 1954 and managed under Deccan Education Society, Pune which was established in 1884. It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress. The college is affiliated with the University of Mumbai, Mumbai and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) on 1st January 1972 under Act, 1956. It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "A" Grade (CGPA Score 3.57 on a 4 Point Scale in 2nd Cycle) on 30th November 2011. The Deccan Education Society, Pune has been established numbers of colleges/schools for the student in the region of Maharashtra and all over the India. The Trust is presently known as Kinawat Education Society having K.G. to P.G. The history of the college is first established Bombay College in the city of Mumbai. Later the foundation stone of Bombay College was laid by great champion of women`s cause in India, Maharshi Dhondo Keshav Karve and college started in the year 1954. In the year 1960 (the 75th anniversary of the society) The Bombay College was renamed as Kirti M. Doongursee College. It is a co-educational private institute, providing a regular course which is located in an urban part of Mumbai played a pioneering role in the field of higher education. the campus is located in another city also has a different name of institutions. This college has awarded as the best college in the field of excellence by the University of Mumbai, Mumbai. Also a number of awards in publication, offering scholarship also awarded by the different society. The college conferred the status of grant-in-aid college that the fees and all the facilities for the students are fixed by the government. The student`s admission is done as per the Admission Criteria prescribed by the affiliating university. At present, the college offers two years intermediate courses in Arts & Science streams with optional streams under Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education, Pune. The college also offers three years undergraduate courses in Arts, Science, Commerce streams with various specializations and also offers two years postgraduate courses in Arts and Science streams with various specializations under the University of Mumbai, Mumbai.
