Overview
DCAC - The Delhi College of Arts and Commerce is a constituent university of the University of Delhi and is partially (5%) supported by the Government of Delhi. It is a co-educational college located in Netaji Nagar`s prime location, close to a number of famous residential societies and business operations. Good connection to road transport via both Delhi Metro, nearest INA and AIIMS stations, bus routes, and auto-rickshaws / E-rickshaw from the nearest metro/bus station. With the projected Metro stations of Bhikaji Cama Place and R.K. Puram expected to open shortly, traveling to college would be made much easier. The College was founded in 1987 under the auspices of the Delhi Administration, following the closure of the former G.D. Salwan College. Though it is currently a separate institution from the Salwan Trust, it sprang out of the former G.D. Salwan College in Rajinder Nagar during its early years. The institution is now housed in a facility owned by the GNCTD`s Department of Higher Education. Despite the infrastructural limits imposed by a nonpermanent self-owned facility, DCAC has gained the reputation of being one of the most sought-after colleges not just on South Campus, but also across Delhi University. In July-August 1989, DCAC was the first institution in Delhi University to offer a three-year Honors Programme in Journalism.
