Approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Govt. of India and affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) The National Education Society of Karnataka, Basavanagudi, Bengaluru is established in the year 1917 with the aim of inculcating the Nationalistic ideals. The society started the first school in the name of “National High School” in 1917 in a rented building near Tharagupet in Bangalore (and shifted to Basavanagudi in the following year) by Annie Besant. The Society adopted the motto “Shraddha hi Parama Gathihi” and the emblem ‘Vedagni’ placed in an ornamental urn. Today, National Education Society of Karnataka is running about 21 education institutions and 3 techno-cultural forums. Besides its’ stress on academic excellence, the college with its consistent encouragement to extra-curricular activities has produced eminent Theatre and Cine Artists, Sports personalities of National and International reputation.
