Overview

TAKING Cognizance of persistent demand of the people of the rural area of Hoshiarpur and neighboring Districts of Punjab to start institutions of higher education to provide job oriented courses to the youth of the area in general and young girls in particular, who could not get to such education at far away places from their homes. The Gursewa Society For Education, Health and Welfare Activities was established in the year of 2000 under the able guidance and Presidentship of Dr. Jang Bhadur Singh Rai of Rai Hospital Garhshankar, a doctor by profession, a social worker by deeds and seasoned political elite by nature. the society is duly registered with the registrar of societies, of Punjab. Right from the beginning the Gursewa Society charted out its plan and established Gursewa institute of Science and Technology at Garhshankar which is affiliated with Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar and running Diploma and Degree courses in Medical Lab Technology (MLT) and Fashion Technology.
