Overview
In 1981 the institute was started at its old site in the vicinity of Dr. Hari Singh Gour University Sagar. In December 1986 the institute was shifted to the newly constructed buildings in the land of 220 Acres area allotted by government of Madhya Pradesh in 1985 on a hillock near Baheriya Village of Sagar District, which is about 10 km away from Sagar City.
