About Islampur College

Islampur College is a government college in Siliguri, West Bengal, established in 1973. Campusbells lists it under Social Sciences, with 6 undergraduate courses, including BA, BA (Hon.) and B.Com. Approvals and accreditation: ISO 21001, UGC.

Islampur College was founded on the 4th of December 1973 in a backward location with the help of a few locals who wanted to make education available to the area’s marginalized and poor residents. The institution could only provide courses in the Arts stream at the time. However, it has grown sufficiently over the last forty-five years to include courses from both the Science and Commerce streams.

Islampur College now provides honors courses in nine different topics to its students. The college features an Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) study center, which allows students who are unable to complete their normal studies to pursue higher education in an open and remote manner. Our students also participate in many social activities through programs organized by the college’s NSS and NCC sections.
