Manipal, Also known as an international university town of today, got its start in 1953 with the establishment of a private medical college, viz., Kasturba Medical College, Manipal. It was India`s first self-financing medical college, built on a desolate hillock that has since transformed into a green environmental city with all modern facilities conducive to student learning.
