Women`s Education Society`s Lady Amritbai Daga College for Women of Arts, Commerce and Science & Smt. Ratnidevi Purohit College of Home Science and Home Science Technology was popularly known as Lady Amritbai Daga and Smt. Ratnidevi Purohit College for Women. The college was established on 11th July 1932 and managed under the Women`s Education Society`s which was established on 21st April 1932. It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress. The college is affiliated with the Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956. It is also recognized & approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "A" Grade (CGPA Score 3.57 on a 4 Point Scale in 3rd Cycle) on 5th November 2016. The aim of the college is to upgrade the rising generation of women and equip them with new technology and science in order to enable them to scale higher peaks of careers in a globalized world. The Women`s Education Society`s has been established numbers of colleges/schools for the student in the region of Maharashtra and all over the India. The trust started their own institution having K.G. to P.G. The history of the college was formally inaugurated by Honourable Justice Dr. M.B. Niyogi, C.I.E., the then Vice-Chancellor of Nagpur University and later the President of Women`s Education Society on 11th July 1932. Later the college was known as "College of Arts for Women" from 1932 to 1935 and as "Central College for Women" from 1935. In 1952, the name of the college was changed to "Lady Amritbai Daga College for Women" in memory of the mother of Seth Badridas Daga and in 1977 Smt. Ratnidevi Purohit College of Home Science Technology named after the mother of Shri Banwarilalji Purohit was established. Finally, this was merged with L.A.D. College for Women in the year 1981-82. The name of the college is now "Lady Amritbai Daga College for Women of Arts, Commerce & Science and Smt. Ratnidevi Purohit College of Home Science and Home Science Technology". The college has two wings viz. junior and senior. The junior wing of the college has Arts, Science and Commerce courses. The senior wing of the college imparts higher education in Arts, Commerce, and Science with Home science technology It is a women self-financed private institute, providing a regular course which is located in an urban part of Nagpur played a pioneering role in the field of higher education. the campus is located in another city also has a different name of institutions. The college conferred the status of grant-in-aid college that the fees and all the facilities for the students are fixed by the government. The student`s admission is done as per the Admission Criteria prescribed by the affiliating university. This college has awarded as the best college by the Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur. Also Numbers of an award in publication, offering scholarship also awarded by the different society. At present, the college offers two years intermediate courses in Arts, Science, & Commerce streams with various optional specializations under Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Pune. The college also offers UG & PG courses in Arts, Science, Commerce and Home science streams with various specializations under Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur. It also offers Ph.D., Diploma, Add-On Certificate and Vocational courses.
