Overview
The Law College Dhanbad was established in the year 1976 and during its nascent stage it used to function in the premises of the H. E. School, Hirapur, Dhanbad. The College got its affiliation from the Ranchi University, Ranchi because of perseverance of Late Binod Bihari Mahato, Late Rang Lal Choudhary and Late Jamini Bhushan Lala from the academic session 1979-1980. The trio was accomplished academicians, legal luminaries, management experts and persons of eminence in Public Service. They envisioned the College to impart Legal Education spreading legal awareness and empowering the helpless in the society. The College remained affiliated to Ranchi University, Ranchi till the establishment of Vinoba Bhave University, Hazaribag a teaching-cum-affiliating state university on the 17th of September, 1992, after the bifurcation of Ranchi University, by Act 3 of 1990 passed by Bihar Assembly.
