Overview
India being nation of villages most of the population used to live in villages. In last 30 years there was huge migration of people from rural areas to big cities for employment, which has caused in huge difference in standard of living of urban and rural population. Education being the most prominent mean to uplift the economic and social status of rural areas Hon. Kiran Thakur (Chief Editor of Daily Tarun Bharat) established Lokmanya Trust on the year 1995.Under the banner he had started many educational programs and professional courses. With regards to his vision in the year 2010 Deshbhakta Shankarrao Gavankar College of Commerce was started at Sawantwadi affiliated to Mumbai University at times when there no other management college was there in the nearby 3 talukas. As chairman of the trust Hon. Kiran Thakur and all other committee members taking continuous efforts to provide better higher educational facilities. Our approach is to build education hub to promote leadership, entrepreneurship and to create employment opportunities.
