About Manavodaya Mahavidyalaya

Manavodaya Mahavidyalaya is a private institution in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, established in 2025. It is affiliated to University of Lucknow. Campusbells lists it under General. Approvals and accreditation: UGC.

As a pioneer of the Self Help process of social and economic empowerment, Manavodaya is credited with introduction of new values and methods in tackling poverty and social injustice among the poorest segments of rural populations. The Self Help Groups spread rapidly in India with direct support of the banks and the government. However, the values that created the spark among people for holistic change were lost in the process.

The universal human values promoted by the institution Manavodaya (Human Awakening) of building Self Awareness and Collective Awareness among people need proper understanding and application in the quest for Sarvodaya (Global Awakening).

The institution Manavodaya was created with the purpose of applying these principles through suitable methods and values among disadvantaged groups in rural India. This led to building of systems of collective decision making and action among people’s groups like the Self Help Groups.
