Overview
Mizoram College of Nursing (MCON) was established in 1980 under the Health & FamilyWelfare Department, Government of Mizoram, with an initial intake capacity of 20 students for the General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) programme. Since its inception, the institution has played a pioneering role in nursing education in the state and has consistently contributed to the healthcare sector by producing competent, dedicated, and compassionate nursing professionals. Over the years, MCON graduates have served with distinction in various healthcare institutions across India and abroad. Recognizing its commitment to excellence in nursing education, the institution was upgraded to a College of Nursing on 11 October 2005 and commenced the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Nursing programme, a four-year degree course. The Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing programme was introduced in 2025, and the Master of Science (M.Sc.) Nursing programme is scheduled to commence from the 2026 academic session.
