Overview
Monash University is an open university founded in 1958. The university is known to be the 2nd oldest university in Australia. The first Chancellor of Monash University was Robert Blackwood, who selected Louis Matheson as the Vice-Chancellor of the university. The university has a few research institutes in other countries like Italy (Prato), India (Mumbai) and China (Suzhou). Monash University has a number of departments like the Department of Forensic Medicines, the Department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine, and the Department of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy. The first and largest campus of Monash University was located in Clayton city, Melbourne.
