MCPUC - Mount Carmel PU College for Women, Bengaluru, operated by the Congregation of the Carmelite Sisters of St. Teresa, was founded in 1948 to address India’s growing need for women’s education. It is a minority institution especially for Roman Catholic students, but in the spirit of service, it welcomes students of all castes and creeds.

In its objective of empowering women through value-based education, the institution draws inspiration from the Person and Teachings of Jesus Christ, Universal Master and Model of Education. In 2002, the Pre-University College was separated from the First Grade College, and our students have received Government Scholarships, Prizes, and Medals. They have continued to fly the College flag high by achieving excellent marks in the Pre-University Board Exams.

The Pre-University College now has 2600 students, which is a great testament to its vision and goal. It is one of India’s top ten colleges.
