Overview
In 2005, the Kerala State Parliamentary Act 27 established the NUALS - National University of Advanced Legal Studies. The National Institute of Advanced Legal Affairs (NIALS), established by the Bar Council of Kerala Trust in 2002, amalgamated with NUALS under the same statute. The 2008 amendment expanded the university authorities` jurisdiction and functions while also ensuring the Kerala State Government`s active engagement. The University Grants Commission approves universities under Section 2 (f) and Section 12B of the UGC Act. In addition, he belongs to the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
