The founders’ foresighted VISION to see the students harmoniously developed great in heart, great in mind, great in deed and great in soul led to the establishment of this institution. Their mission in life was to transform the rural youth from a passive, conservative, traditional form to a vibrant, progressive, scientific and enterprising mould. The Higher Education Institution, N T S Samiti’s Shri Shankar Arts and Commerce College was founded in 1970 to meet the Higher Educational needs of the people of Navalgund Town and surrounding area. It has now become the pride of the place. Heartfelt pranamas to the generous and munificent gestures of His Holiness Late Shri Pandit Gurudev Shivacharya Mahaswamiji of Chikkamannur Hiremath who sacrificed his entire life time earnings for the establishment of this college.
