Overview
Seth Parsram Parumal (Baba), a great philanthropist and a visionary of his time, established an educational family trust, the Seva Sadan in the year 1950 to provide educational facilities to Sindhi migrants during the post partition period in Sindhunagar, today known as Ulhasnagar.The trust started New Era School in the year 1950 and dons the credit to have constructed the first cement concrete building of Ulhasnagar in 1957. In the year 1961, the trust started Ulhasnagar Girls College, the first college in the entire Konkan region. The college was later in the year 1967 renamed as Ramchand Kimatram Talreja College of Arts, Science & Commerce today popularly known as R.K.T College. It was the selfless spirit of “Baba”, which prompted him to rename the college after Ramchand Kimatram Talreja, who generously donated funds to the institution. In the year 1964 Seva Sadan’s College of Education was started to impart training to the teachers.
