Located in the shadows of Dhauladhar Hills, blessed by Baba Baijnath (Lord Shiva) and situated at the bank of Binwa khud, Paprola is proud of its Rajiv Gandhi Govt. Post Graduate Ayurvedic College.The college came into existence in the year 1972 by the name of Him Ayurvedic College as a private institution under the supervision of Vaid Hakim Parishad of Himachal Pradesh by the efforts of Vaid Jagan Nath Sharma. At that time it was affiliated with Punjab faculty Chandigarh. Later in the year 1978 on 3rd March it was undertaken by H.P. Government and was affiliated with Himachal Pradesh University in 1979. Rajiv Gandhi Government Post Graduate Ayurvedic College Paprola is the only college of its type in the state of Himachal Pradesh. It is situated on National Highway No. 20. The nearest Railway station is Baijnath Paprola (Northern Railway). The nearest airport is Gaggal in Distt. Kangra, 50 Kms away from the college. The world famous Lord Shiva temple of Baijnath is at a distance of 2 Kms from the college. The entire campus is surrounded by hills which are rich in herbal flora.
