Overview

Sualkuchi Budram Madhab Satradhikar College (S.B.M.S. College), Sualkuchi, established on 1 August 1963, is a prominent institution of higher education located at Kanchan Nagar, Sualkuchi, Kamrup, Assam – 781103, on the north bank of the Brahmaputra. Situated in the culturally rich and historically renowned silk town of Sualkuchi, the College has been serving the educational needs of the region for more than six decades. Established through the collective efforts of the local community in a sylvan campus of 14 acres donated by Iswar Shri Shri Hatisatra, the premier seat of Vaisnabism in the Sualkuchi area, the college was named in memory of the revered Vaishnavite saints Late Budram Mahanta and Late Madhab Mahanta of Iswar Shri Shri Hatisatra. The College is affiliated to Gauhati University and is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). In its third cycle of NAAC accreditation, the College was awarded B++ grade.
