About S.B.P. Mahavidyalaya

S.B.P. Mahavidyalaya is a private aided institution in Ganjam, Odisha, established in 1990. Campusbells lists it under General. Approvals and accreditation: UGC, NBA.

Briefly, the various symbols in the Crest carry the underlying sense that S.B.P. Mahavidyalaya manifests the noble motto of providing its students with learning, wisdom, hope and vigor which would enable them to achieve mental, moral and material development and lead to their attainment of peace and prosperity in life.

For more than three decades even after independence, the prospect of higher education for the matriculates of southern and interior parts of the present Ganjam District (comprising of the erstwhile estates of Jarada, Surangi, Chikiti, etc.) remained rather bleak and forlorn. In the vast tract of land stretching from the mouth of River Bahuda in the east to Khariaguda in the west and Tamana in the north to Tumba Agency in the south, there was not single institution for post-matric study.

However, it was the increase in the number of high schools in the region that gradually helped crystallise the idea of starting a College at Samantiaplli Square where roads from north, south and west converge together.
