Overview

Welcome to Sankalpa. We are delighted that you had taken the time to learn more about our wonderful school. Sankalpa is a powerful Sanskrit word meaning resolution. In 2002 we took a pledge with a determination to create the happiest possible environment for our children, as they endeavour to take their first steps into the world outside. With this Sankalpa growing stronger in our heart, we created our preschool with the primary motive of welcoming the child into our fold. It was a simple but enjoyable environment for a child to play and learn. With the child, we began to learn also. In effect, the children helped strengthen our determination and therefore our Sankalpa and the institution grew with them- Our logo is also inspired by the children. They are the light and joy of our life. The Deepa is the symbol of learning and enlighten. The red colour of the background is considered auspicious and brings good fortune. It is our belief learning is a joyful journey that begins from our childhood and continue throughout our lives cumulating in a lifelong pursue of knowledge and wisdom. We hope that you will come and visit us! Every morning entering sankalpa each child is treated with a warm smile by the teachers. Our classrooms are spacious, bright and carefully designed to provide a stimulating learning environment the activities are attractively displayed on open shelves enticing children to experiment with them being responsible to the prepared environment the teachers present this purposeful activities at critical periods using their knowledge of each child's developmental stages. Our teaching methods are happy blend of Montessori and kindergarten. We use the philosophy and teaching materials developed by Dr. Maria Montessori. Our teachers are highly qualified professional educators who are passionate about Montessori education. At Sankalpa, we offer students the individual attention required to meet their social, emotional and academic needs. Children in Montessori environments learn at their own phase. Our student works is an exciting process of discovery, leading to concentration, motivation, self-discipline and a love of learning. Our program is based on children's developmental needs and creates freedom within limits through a carefully prepared environment. Montessori materials are self-correcting, interesting to children and developmentally appropriate. The prepared environment is central to the implementation of the Montessori curriculum.
