Overview

Sonari College, Sonari was established in 5th August, 1970. It is one of the premier institution established with a mission to impart higher education among the students of the locality mostly from Tribal communities and to strive for an all round development of the students. The college is affiliated to Dibrugarh University, Dibrugarh and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) Act, 1956. It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade. The college offers two years Higher Secondary Courses in Arts & Science stream under Assam Higher Secondary Educational Council (AHSEC), Guwahati and three years Degree Courses in Arts & Science stream under Dibrugarh University, Dibrugarh. It also offers some Career Oriented Courses / Add On Course. The college also has a Contact Centre of Directorate of Distance Education Dibrugarh University for PG courses. Besides this, the college is running a Study Centre of Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University (KKHSOPU), Guwahati.
