About Sri Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence

Sri Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence is a private university in Kalaburagi, Karnataka, established in 2019. Campusbells lists it under General. Approvals and accreditation: UGC, AIU.

Established in 2019 by Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai in Karnataka, India, Sri Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence (SSSUHE) is a State Private University that redefines the purpose and practice of higher education. It is the only university in India where tuition, accommodation, boarding, and all daily necessities are provided entirely free of charge — a living affirmation that education is a fundamental human right, not a commercial transaction. Over 75% of students hail from families below the poverty line; more than 50% are young women, 60% are first-generation graduates and more than 65% are from rural.

SSSUHE consciously revives the ancient Indian Gurukula system, where knowledge, character, and community form an inseparable whole. Students live together on campus, embodying ‘Vasudhaiva Kuṭumbakam’ (the world as one family). Daily life is structured around morning prayers, reflective practice, and devotional assemblies, creating a rhythm that roots intellectual pursuit in spiritual depth.
