St. Anne’s Church in Virajpet, established in 1792, is a historic testament to the faith and devotion of the early Christian settlers in the region. Dedicated to St. Anne, this iconic church is renowned for its serene ambiance, striking colonial-era architecture, and deep spiritual significance. Over the centuries, it has remained a center of worship and a symbol of the town’s rich cultural heritage, drawing visitors and devotees alike to experience its timeless beauty and sacred atmosphere.

St. Anne’s Church played a vital role in the educational development of South Kodagu. Recognizing the need for education in the region, the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. G.M. Nunes, established a lower primary school between 1841 and 1850. This initiative laid the foundation for learning and growth, providing children with access to quality education and shaping the future of the community. Over the years, the school has remained a beacon of knowledge, continuing its mission of nurturing young minds with values and academic excellence.
