Overview
Celebrating its legacy of women empowerment for six decades, St. Xavier’s College for Women (Autonomous), Aluva- Kochi adorns a unique status among higher education institutions of Kerala. The college functions under the management of the Congregation of Teresian Carmelites (CTC), holding steadfast to its motto “on the path of Knowledge, love and service.” St. Xavier’s College for Women was founded in 1964 by luminaries Rev. Mother Mary Magdaline CTC, Rev. Msgr. Augustine Maveli and Rev. Mother Isabel CTC. A humble endeavour that began with four Pre-degree batches of 238 students and 22 faculty, today the institution offers 17 Undergraduate, 7 Postgraduate and 3 Research programs along with a number of add-on and certificate courses. St. Xavier’s College scored a landmark achievement when it became the first college in the state to attain a CGPA of 3.68 in the fifth cycle of NAAC accreditation in 2022. This race towards excellence pinnacled with the attainment of the coveted autonomous status in 2024.
