Science and Technology is fast advancing. More and more industries are coming up and there is an ever-increasing demand for technically trained personnel to man these industries. Technical Institutions play a vital role in this respect.

It is obvious that every nook and corner of the country must have facilities to offer Technical Education. Realising this importance of Technical Education in the growth of a country, Swamy Abedhanandha Trust was formed in 1984 at Thellar (a small village in Thiruvannamalai district) with the motto of “Service in the cause of Technical Education”. The members of the Trust, benevolent at heart and gallant at task, immediately set working and their hard work bore fruit.

Swamy Abedhanandha Polytechnic was founded in the same year 1984 at Thellar. Swamy Abedhanandha was a saint-philosopher, who lived in Thirugnanasambandar Mutt of Thellar village. He was loved and respected by one and all, in and around Thellar.

Leading a very simple and pious life, he showed the righteous path on the earth.
