Many technical institutes of this type have been established in the state during the last ten years, but these are yet to provide the gamut of quality technological and or managerial professionals that is required to ameliorate West Bengal to the status of a gateway to industries worldwide. The district of Hooghly is still lagging behind few other district with respect to establishing technical institutes of repute and recognition.

Out of the 157 Polytechnic Institutes (upto 2022-23 Academic Session) that are currently in the state, of only 11 are in the district of Hooghly. Thus a great opportunity exists in Bandel vis a vis Hooghly town for the expansion of Technical Education. We have a dream project in our mind to setup an international standard full-fledged Technical Institute in the field of Civil Engineering and others.
