Overview
The Montessori School endeavors to build a harmonious, inclusive community by being sensitive to the different learning styles. Collaboration with the parent community is an integral part of our work culture and this has contributed in helping us nurture the spirit of learning for life. We believe that our skill sets and team effort will contribute towards building an Authentic Montessori program in the sub continent. The team at The Montessori School is qualified to serve the needs of children from birth to 12 years of age. Each of the Guides has a certification from AMI(Association Montessori Internationale), a global organisation established by Dr. Maria Montessori to maintain the integrity of her work. Every team member periodically undertakes professional development to stay current with recent studies and research on education. Our Mission : To serve the needs of the children from birth through adolescence by meeting the needs at each stage of development. Our Vision : To work towards bringing in authentic Montessori practise at every stage of development. Partner with communities to build a peaceful world through our work with children. Story of how TMS started : After the 0-3 programme in the United States our founder, Kavya Chandrasekhar initiated parent and infant class in the city in the year 2009. The parents attending these sessions were very keen on continuing their children's education in the Montessori way. This saw the birth of the first Youngest Children's Community (15 months to 3 years) in the city. Thereafter in the year 2013 the Children's House (3 years to 6 years) was set up to meet the needs of the children graduating from the Youngest Children's Community. In 2017 the team at The Montessori School plunged into work with children between the age group of 6 to 12 years. Our Family : The team at TMS is qualified to serve the needs of children from birth to 12 years of age.
