Vaishnav Mata Mahavidyalaya was established with the objective of providing access to quality higher education within Panna district, located in the Sagar division of Madhya Pradesh. Although the region is rich in natural resources, it has historically lagged behind in the field of higher education. As a result, many students were compelled to migrate to metropolitan cities in search of better academic opportunities.

While students from financially secure families could manage these expenses, those belonging to middle-class, lower-middle-class, and economically weaker sections were unable to afford them, leading to a lack of access to quality education.

To address this challenge, the Vaishnav Mata Shiksha Samiti—founded in 2008—resolved in its meeting to establish a private college within the district offering the Arts, Science, and Commerce streams, along with the professional B.Ed. program.
