Overview

Vedic Lore Preschool and Day boarding opened doors to families and children on Dec 21st, 2018. However, Vedic Lore as a concept was conceived about 3-4 years ago and we had taken baby steps over the years to set our foundation strong. We, the three of us, have individual specializations and we have been actively involved in a lot of research, most of which have been through meeting the best brains in the educational industry to put forth our ideas to create a unique blend of the best ELY pedagogies, creative learning methodologies and extended care processes so that what we had as a thought process would take shape to the acceptance of most parents. The prior years before opening our doors to families were spent in first certifying ourselves in child psychology, alternative ways of teaching, researching extensively and networking with the management of well-established schools in and around Bangalore & Chennai. This was to understand the skill sets of that most schools look forward to developing over the early learning years. We have hand-chosen most of these skill sets and re-modelled them to suit our children with an emphasis on catering to individual children who might require teaching in different ways. We also utilized these years to hand pick the best of brains in the education industry who were passionate teachers who readily were willing to unlearn and adopt our methodology of teaching and caring for our children the Vedic Lorians. A special mention would be to our advisory panel members who have been with us for all these years assisting us in myriad ways, who have placed us in different preschools/schools to shadow, be mentored and learn from the management and teachers of different places. Our visits to rural schools to understand forest learning and few Waldorf & Montessori based schools have been our forte to build Vedic Lore as a nature driven preschool. Vedic humans were people who learnt everything from the land through observation, touch, feel and experiments. In our school we replicate the same to a large extent were children are allowed to freely explore our different enriching environments and choose between different classes as per their interests during the day. Our children when they just start pre-schooling are exposed more to our Montessori and Waldorf environments and over the years (post turning 3.2 years of age and above) are exposed to Indian Kindergarten approach so that the transition to traditional learning methodologies is seem less. As a preschool, we look forward to growing the skill sets in children and assessing them basis their interests rather than thrusting them with general metrics of Kindergarten learning. At Vedic Lore, our learning methodologies do not end with just implementing our curriculum but it also extends to celebrating all Indian celebrations, events and few fun international celebrations to give a more holistic inclusive view of our traditions and culture. We believe in involving our parent community in our school events as much as possible to show a united front to our tiny tots so that the acceptance of an extended family comes across easily to them. The reason why our school's tag line is "Preschool by Moms" is because all of us have children and are involved in home schooling in some way or the other and most of us have the belief system of wanting our children to be raised in a certain way be it at home or at school. Early learning has more to do with replicating what we as parents teach our children at home with much more structure, order, social interactions, skill and personality development. Our passion and commitment to ELY made us do the entire ground work and take complete responsibility for every aspect of our preschool which we have built from scratch where nothing was copied, and everything was built and structured from the very beginning. We are, as anyone else, continuously learning and even after years of experience, we are still evolving to accommodate all needs and best practices that would help our children thrive better in a holistic way! We as an extended care provider, are always open to meaningful feedback from our parent community to better oneself in raising our children together as a family! We truly look forward to many more years of growing together as part of the Vedic Lore community!
