The pillar that protects the edifice of happiness and stability of a country is the people`s welfare, which is called the blessings of the wealthy and the riches of the poor. Mr. A J Shetty, an educationist and philanthropist, founded the A J Institute of Dental Sciences as a brilliant, futuristic initiative of the Laxmi Memorial Trust(R), a premier educational institution. The mission of AJ Dental College Mangalore is to have a global viewpoint of dental education in order to meet the national goal of "Health for Everyone." Mangalore has risen to the top of the global dental education rankings as a result of its tireless efforts. "To build as a premier institution imparting Dental education that effectively blends strong academic visibility, professional perspective, and dedication to humanitarian values," the institution`s vision states. The first class of dental students enrolled in 2002 began a serious effort to realize this admirable vision. AJIDS aspires to provide a high-quality education to all prospective students, regardless of caste, religion, community, or other considerations. A hundred admissions a year for the college are recognized by the Dental Council of India and the ministry of health For post-graduate dental education in eight different specialities. After the inspection, the college has been affiliated with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.
