Overview

Bonaigarh College, Bonaigarh (Dist. Sundargarh) was established on 15th September 1971 under active guidance of IAS Sri Rajendra Kishor Panda & S.K Menon who Served Bonai as sub-divisional officers. It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone on the part of progress. The college is affiliated with the Sambalpur University, Sambalpur and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956. It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade (in 1st Cycle) on 17th October 2006 The aim of the college is to provide students with the knowledge and skills they need in this era of information and teaching and as well as to provide the ideal environment to develop the mental, Physical, social and spiritual level of students. It is a co-educational private Institute, providing regular courses at primarily the higher secondary and undergraduate levels which are located in a rural part of a Sundargarh played a pioneering role in the field of higher education. The college offers two years intermediate courses in Arts and Science stream with various specializations under Council of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha. The college also offers three years undergraduate courses in Arts and Science stream with various specializations under Sambalpur University, Sambalpur. Students should have to choose one honor (core) subject with two or more as subsidiary (elective) subjects for the specific undergraduate streams. The college also offers distance education mode courses for the students under Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi.
