Overview

Angul Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Angul was also known as M.E. School, Angul was established on 15th July 1978 and founded by Sri Biju Patnaik with help of the humble contributions of the people of the locality. It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone on the part of progress. It is affiliated with the Fakir Mohan University, Balasore formerly affiliated with Utkal University, Bhubaneswar and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) on 31st March 2005 under Act, 1956. It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "C" Grade (in 1st Cycle) on 28th March 2008. The college was started on 15th July 1978 only with intermediate Arts class in the Sri Sasadhar Chaulia Mill Premises. in the year 1980, it was shifted to Angul Mahila Mahavidyalaya, M.E. School Campus. The +2 Science & Commerce classes were opened in the 1995-96 session. Later the degree course in arts was introduced 1n 1988-89.Now the college is a full-fledged degree college in Arts. It is a women`s private Institute, providing a regular course which is located in an urban part of an Angul played a pioneering role in the field of higher education. The college conferred the status of grant-in-aid college that the fees and all the facilities for the students are fixed by the government. The student`s admission is done as per the Admission Criteria prescribed by the affiliating university. The college has awarded as the best college by the affiliating university and also a number of awards in publication, offering scholarship & also awarded by the different society. The college offers two years intermediate courses in Arts, Science, and Commerce stream with various specializations under Council of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha. The college also offers three years undergraduate courses in Arts and Science streams with various specializations under Fakir Mohan University, Balasore. It also offers Add-On courses. Students should have to choose one honor (core) subject with two or more as subsidiary (elective) subjects for the specific undergraduate streams.
