Kalpataru First Grade Science College Kalpataru College was started in 1962 with philanthropic support from visionaries like Shri Pallagatti Adavappa, and also donations from denizens of Tiptur and surrounding villages. The founder Principal of the college was Prof. J.R. Mahalingaiah who worked tirelessly to lay a strong foundation to the institution. Initially all the streams of Arts, Science and Commerce were offered under Kalpataru College. In 1982, as the strength increased manifold, the Kalpataru College was bifurcated into Kalpataru Science College and Pallagatti Adavappa Arts and Commerce College for a smoother administration.
