Overview

Established in 1954, Kishinchand Chellaram College, Mumbai is also called the K.C. College. K.C. College is managed by the Hyderabad (Sind) National Collegiate Board, which was set up in 1921. The college is affiliated to the University of Mumbai, Mumbai and it was recognized by the Govt. of Maharashtra & University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956. It was re-accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "A" Grade (CGPA Score 3.41 on a 4 Point Scale in the 3rd cycle) on 10th December 2014. The Hyderabad (Sind) National Collegiate Board has set up a number of schools and colleges not only in the region of Maharashtra but all over the country. The educational institutions started by the board provide education to students starting from K.G. to P.G. As a grant-in-aid college, the facilities to be provided to the students and the fees to be paid is decided by the government. The affiliating university decides on the admission criteria to be followed by the college. Mumbai University has conferred the title of the best university to this college. The college has also received several awards in the field of publication. It has also been awarded by different societies in various fields. Various scholarships have also been offered to the students of the college. Currently, intermediate courses in science, arts, and commerce streams with optional streams for a period of two years are conducted at the college. It is offered under the Maharashtra State Board of secondary and higher secondary education, Pune. Kishinchand Chellaram College, Mumbai also offers undergraduate courses for a period of three years with various specializations, postgraduate courses for a period of two years and Ph.D. courses and certificate courses in the fields of arts, commerce, and science under the University of Mumbai, Mumbai. Kishinchand Chellaram College also conducts vocational and professional courses in industrial chemistry, banking and insurance, computer science, information technology, computer applications, mass media, biotechnology and accounts and finance.
