Overview

The Swadeshi Education Trust (SET), a registered Trust within the state of Assam, started Swadeshi Academy Junior College in Science Stream in 1994 and introduced the commerce stream in 1999 to impart modern education to pupils and to equip them to face the challenges of living and working in a world that increasingly influenced by scientific and technological developments in industry, trade and commerce. With a view to accomplishing this mission, the trust has also started a school section at Hengrabari in its own plot. The trust helps brilliant and needy students by sponsoring them to continue with their studies. The Academy is affiliated with the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council, since its inception. The then Managing Trustee of Swadeshi Education Trust, Prof. Nareswar Sharma took all the initiative in starting Swadeshi Academy Jr. College, providing all help including land, space, furniture, fixtures and fitting equipment etc. and with the dedication of teachers and other staff, Swadeshi Academy has advanced into its present status. The Academy campus is established at an ideal and convenient place, away from the busy G.S Road. There are spacious rooms and provisions for all modern infrastructure required by the students and teachers. The institute`s axial emphasis is on career building and promotion of national integration and social harmony through the positive formation of the character of the young generation without discriminating against caste, creed, religion and gender. The Swadeshi Academy pledges to train students with heart and soul and tooth and nail to make them disciplined, honest, cooperative, good and useful citizens. It is our endeavour to minimize the holidays and maximize classes. To make students successful in life the teachers, students and guardians must perform their respective duties. All of us must try our best to face the challenges of the times in the state, country and the world at large.
