AKSHARA MONTESSORI HOUSE OF CHILDREN Your child will locate every relevant tool needed for creative developmental activity in the AKSHARA House of Children at the proper time when its "inner teacher" urges it to seek out such a tool. All of the natural talents that nature has bestowed on him or her, as well as tools to assist him or her in developing them. Your child will learn everything at AKSHARA in a very natural and creative way, rather than "mugging" or by rote (from informal abilities like tying its shoelaces to formal skills like reading, writing, and mathematics). At AKSHARA, there is no learning by rote. There’s no need to do it by heart.

Because the child at AKSHARA appreciates all of his or her work, he or she develops and learns considerably more quickly in every way than a youngster who is forced to learn something he or she dislikes. Children who have completed the course. When students from Montessori Houses attend regular schools, they are found to be well-adjusted and quite creative.

How Akshara Started : Under the auspices of the Akshara Society for Montessori Learning, the Akshara Montessori House of Children was established in 1975.

Akshara has grown over the years from a small beginning with just one class of twenty students to a widely regarded school that actually enables the best development of all its wards as creative and productive human beings. This success, combined with the support of parents and children who have benefited from Akshara education over the last thirty years, has led us to open the ambitious ’Akshara Art of Learning’ in Satharmr, near Yelahanka. Since June 2006, this new Montessori school has been in operation.

Where We’ve reached now : The Pre-Primary Section is located at the Akshara Montessori House of Children in Ulsoor. The Akshara Art of Learning, located in Sathanur, near Yelahanka, provides Montessori Pre-Primary, Primary, and Montessori-based Middle School instruction on 5 acres of lush greenery and azure skies. Each year, we will add a class to accommodate senior students, all the way through high school, so that they can pass the NIOS exams when they are ready.

The Admissions Process Obtaining admission for your child at Akshara Parents should first visit with the Principal and observe a functioning ’Montessori environment’ to gain a better understanding of what makes this kind of education unique and what we can offer to assist their children to thrive. When observing youngsters in their environment, there are some rules to observe. Parents and others are invited to observe children in the Akshara Montessori environment, but we do ask that they follow a few simple regulations.

Please remove your shoes and take a seat in the specified area. Keep in mind that the child isn’t just having fun; he or she is working hard to further his or her growth. As a result, please refrain from interrupting the child’s work by chatting to him or partaking in any of the environment’s activities.

Some additional guidelines Meetings with the Principal will only be scheduled in advance. On receipt of Rs. 500/-, application forms for admissions are available at the office.

When the school receives the completed application form and the year’s fees, the children will be enrolled in the program. Enrollment is final for the whole school year. m.

m. Cheques and draughts should be made payable to "Akshara Montessori." Cheques that are returned will be charged at a rate of Rs 250 per cheque Parents will be notified of the fees for the following academic year at the end of each academic year.

Fees must be paid by the specified deadline. If the school does not receive a response by the required date about the child’s continuing at school or the prescribed fee for the next year, the school reserves the right to assign the spot to a new student.
