St. Agnes School, Mangalore started by the Apostolic Carmel Sisters in 1965, is a Minority Institution as per the Constitution of India, Article 30 (1). The Apostolic Carmel Congregation was founded by Mother Veronica of the Passion in 1868 and was established on St.

Ann's Campus, Mangalore in 1870 with its main thrust being, the development of women as persons imbued with deep faith in God and in themselves by providing sound Catholic Education. Agnes School has a great history of excellence and uniqueness with the motto 'GOD IS OUR STRENGTH' and our patroness St. Agnes is guiding, guarding and directing our young children to bloom and blossom into gentle maidens of India's future.

Herein we wish to place on record a brief report of the activities of the academic year 2019-20: STAFF STRENGTH: We are a proud family of 1398 students, 59 teachers, 12 support staff, a counselor, a librarian and 4 coordinators for co-curricular activities. OUR VISION: Drawing inspiration from Jesus Christ and expressing our oneness with all people.

St Agnes envisages the building of holistic education society to make us a precious human resource of our country. FAITH FORMATION: The Morning Prayer is conducted for all students. A general assembly is held monthly wherein importance is given to all religions and students get a chance to showcase their talents.

The afternoon session commences with a prayer song and meditation. Prayer day is conducted annually for all students. Through Value Education classes, moral values like forgiveness, tolerance, simplicity, politeness, integrity, patriotism etc are inculcated in students to make us better citizens of the country.

SOCIAL CONCERN: To imbibe the spirit of compassion and social responsibility towards the weaker and underprivileged sections of society a sharing day is observed in the school. Students bring gifts in cash or kind, which are later distributed to the ashrams, old age homes and needy people of the city. INTELLECTUAL DEVELOPMENT: We believe that learning takes place all the time and everywhere.

Through quiz programmes, debate, Olympiad, recitation, storytelling and mono acting it develops in us a thirst for knowledge which can be integrated in life. Seventeen students of our school have been selected for the state-level mega finals of the spell-bee competition. Discipline, cleanliness, academic excellence, exhibition of science models and club activities inculcate in us the spirit to pursue academic goals and relate them to daily life.

Notice board competition helps to bring out the creativity in students. A field trip is organized to help students learn through visual experiences and is an interesting way to explore new things. ACADEMIC RESULT: We are proud to announce that our first batch of class X with 65 students have secured 100% results in the CBSE board exams 2019 with 45 distinctions and 20 first classes.

EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT: In order to develop a positive self image, training in cultural activities like music and dance, sports and games is provided which helps to accept both victory and defeat in the right spirit, Yoga and Karate classes improve physical and mental health. The Shanthi Guide Company and the St. Agnes Bulbul flock are active under the captaincy of our guide teachers.

Eight guides have cleared the Rajya Puraskar. ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION: The students of our school have already taken up the moral responsibility of environment preservation and spreading awareness. This year, each section was entrusted with a sapling to nurture and build a green environment in our school.
